Description
Albert Saverys emerges as the eclectic master of the expressionist landscape. He lets a light flicker on his canvases until deep into the winter. He often lets our gaze slide to the depths via the river or a street, along picturesque banks and lanes. Secretly, he still retains the airy variation of the luminists. Too rigid contours and flat surfaces are not his thing. Even in winter, life tingles under the skin in his landscapes. (F. Huygens)
